Medical Clinic construction is underway
Father Kingsley and DMIWOO have been running a once-a-year medical mission for several years.
These missions have helped many thousands of people.
But Fathers’ dream was bigger than a once-a-year medical clinic. While many of the medical staff wouldn’t mind volunteering more often, it is a huge burden to cart in all the equipment and supplies needed to run a clinic. So to provide medical care every month would mean a permanent building, where equipment and supplies could be stored. A group of people from Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford, Connecticut, heard of the work that Father was doing in Obike, Nigeria and his dream of building a permanent clinic to save lives year-round.
In September of 2017, this group came up with a plan and has been raising money ever since. In January of 2018 the Village Elders got together and donated the land to Divine Mercy Medical Clinic. The land was then cleared and secured by fencing in the property. On August 19, 2018 was our groundbreaking for the medical building and the cornerstone was ceremoniously laid. Construction is continuing as funding comes in.
